Samenvatting:
‘I like living here, you know. It’s quiet. I love the greenery, the garden, the peace and the birds. I have a studio and I haven’t been beaten up in the street yet.’
A newly married man moves with his husband into his in-laws’ house, who sought their happiness elsewhere. Although the house at the end of the street offers comfort, the young painter struggles with this new reality. As if he tried his best to adapt to the norms, only to discover that those structures were not created for him, for them. The house and its inhabitants increasingly suffer under a scorching heat. As his marriage threatens to unravel, the young man tries to regain control of his life by capturing his world in paint. Against disappearance, against the idea that it is easier to be ‘normal’.
