Summary:

Nina Shin's life changes forever when she comes home to find she has been replaced. In her own kitchen stands a strange man – an unknown, yet eerily familiar presence – who has taken her place in the family. Her friends, family, even her husband… No one recognizes her anymore. Within minutes, Nina is driven from her own life, wandering lost through the streets of London.

When she meets Lester Wells, an eccentric American and founder of the mysterious Bureau of Fringe Affairs, she realizes she is not alone. Everyone who has joined the Bureau has been replaced, and more people are joining all the time. For years, they have been trying to figure out who or what these intruders are – and how to fight them.

Nina joins, determined to find answers. But as she becomes part of the team and delves deeper into the dark side of the Bureau of Fringe Affairs, she begins to wonder if Lester's mission can succeed. For who are you when everyone has let go of your memory? And who can you become when the world has forgotten you?
