Summary:

After years of struggling with his desires, John Addington, married and father of three daughters, meets his new love, Frank. Elsewhere in London, the marriage of Henry Ellis and his wife Edith is put to the test by Edith's love affair with a woman, Angelica. In Victorian England, both couples live in guilt and shame.

When John and Henry meet, they decide to write a book, an appeal for personal and sexual freedom. But just before its publication, Oscar Wilde is arrested, accused of sodomy. That dramatic event confronts John and Henry with a painful choice.
